HMI Secures NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 Certification for Water Safety

Our Commitment to Clean and Safe Water Solutions

At the conclusion of each of HMI’s Discovery & Training seminars, every one of our customers is sent off with the famous Paul Delfino’s “Welcome to the family!” As family to us, it is HMI’s utmost priority to keep our family and community safe. As we all have grown increasingly aware of the dangers of contaminating the water that we are consuming, the questions have been rolling in on what we plan to do to verify that when our products are applied we are all still receiving pure and safe water from our systems. Well you asked, and we listened! All of us here at HMI are pleased to announce that we have recently been certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN-61 for our top selling products RR401 Fast and HF 402. This verifies that our products are safe for use in and around drinking water and other water sources in the United States and Canada through ALS-Truesdail Laboratories. This is a significant milestone in our continued growth and success of our company and of our partners’. This certification shows our commitment to providing our customers with the highest of quality product along with the peace of mind that you are providing your customers with a clean, safe, and sustainable solution.

WHAT IS NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 STANDARD

The NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 standard is used by governments to protect public health by defining the health effects of materials used around potable water and around water sources/systems. Securing this certification confirms that these products have been tested and meet the safety standards for projects in and around water sources. These products are backed by a team of professionals who are committed to the improvement of public health and safety which garners confidence and trust in our brand by our customers. Commonly the NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 standard is used to qualify plumbing materials such as pipes and gaskets on potable water systems. HMI’s polyurethane foams qualify as a barrier material certified for use in contact with potable water.

HOW WAS THIS CERTIFICATION ACHIEVED

HMI welcomed ALS-Truesdail Laboratories, a trusted certification body into our manufacturing facility for a full scale audit of our manufacturing process. This included every step from raw material receiving to the final product leaving our door and into your hands. Samples of each certified material were sent for comprehensive analysis for detection of potentially hazardous pollutants that could contaminate the ground water. These product approvals paired with rigorous leaching tests reinforces the certainty that we are keeping our water systems clean for our families and communities.
