Experience Real-World Concrete Lifting
Paul DelFino
Many new (and even experienced) concrete lifters and levelers believe the ultimate learning experience is to shadow HMI contracting division crews (Raise-rite Concrete Lifting).
The experience allows them to:
- See a variety of REAL jobs where “things happen” and not all goes as planned.
- Learn from the Crew Leaders who perform the work every day.
- See firsthand how Estimate Rocket and other business/marketing systems are executed.
A LAB vs THE REAL WORLD – HMI has new concrete poured for every seminar conducted outside of Manitowoc. When training is conducted at their training center slabs are prepared to replicate traditional pieces of sidewalk and driveway. In these cases; the sub base is consistent and the joints are cut thru. We all know that in the real world that is not always true.
Seeing real jobs of scale offers the best perspective of understanding the impact on multiple contiguous slabs when you lift or change the pitch of just one slab of concrete. Although an effort is made to replicate this experience during the Discovery and Training Seminar, HMI cannot, in a lab environment allow you to see and feel:
- Garage Approaches
- Roadways
- Curbs
- Pool Decks
- Warehouse Floors
- & a multitude of other applications
TIME IS MONEY – HMI charges nothing for the shadowing is experience. The HMI team will work to be flexible to fit in your schedule. 1 day to 3 days depending on the time you can devote.
TAKEAWAY – There is nothing like the real thing. Beyond classroom and laboratory training, HMI will make is easy for you to master the concrete lifting and leveling business. You devote the time and HMI will create the experience. BY THE WAY – while there, consider devoting time to shadow the RaiseRite Concrete Lifting estimator. That is another opportunity see firsthand how HMI implements what it teaches.
