SOIL EVALUATION EQUIPMENT

DYNAMIC CONED PENETROMETERS

Dynamic coned penetrometers are used to evaluate soil conditions. Testing involves documenting how many load cycles it takes to penetrate the soil one foot into the ground. Results provide the CBR% or SPT of the soil at various depths. Low results identify areas needing repair while high counts represent stronger soils.

Pre-project DCP evaluations help to design repair strategies. Layers of soil with low compressive strength will be targeted for repair. Post-project evaluations can be compared to pre-project results to quantify the ground improvement.

AUTOMATED DYNAMIC CONE PENETROMETER

USE: The dynamic test is performed through a hammer system made up of a 30 kg (66 pound) hammer with a 200 mm (7.87 inch) stroke, operated by hydraulic motor. A hydraulic extractor is used to extract rods, lining tubes and samplers. Lastly, the penetrometer is controlled entirely through a pedal-operated distributor.

VERSATILITY: DPM 30 can be used not only for dynamic tests, but also with removable bits, lining tubes for DP tests and with a sampler for soil
samples with limited disturbance, that guarantees improved ability to interpret the penetrometric data.

RELIABILITY AND CONVENIENCE: Assembly of the different penetrometer components is done through practical and intuitive quick couplings. Thanks to its
extremely small size, it is easy to transport, allowing to execute tests even on sites inaccessible to normal machines. Test as deep as 30 ft or more!

POWER SUPPLY SUITED TO ANY SITUATION: Penetrometer DPM 30 allows continuous dynamic penetrometric tests to be performed, with gas or electric engine.

SMART DYNAMIC CONE PENETROMETER

DCP’s evaluate the strength of the soils. DCP tests can show you where the failing soil is located to design the right repair strategy. Investing in a unit like this can save contractors from needing to hire a one time Geotechnical Engineering evaluation.

  • Record data on iOS & Android smart devices via Bluetooth
  • Automatically counting blows
  • Recording the change in depth with each blow
  • Tracking the total depth of the probe
  • Eliminating the need for a ruler, pencil, & paper
  • Transferring data via e-mail or USB from the smart device
  • Testing depth limit: 3-12ft
  • 8kg (18lbs) weight
SUPPORT: You are not in this alone! Contact your Account Manager to help process data and evaluate repair strategies with this valuable data.
